ബംഗ്ളൂരിൽ ഒരു ഹിന്തു-അബലാശ്രമം സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ലിബറൽ കക്ഷിക്കാരുടെ നാടുവാഴ്ച ദൂഷ്യങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ ഒരു കക്ഷിക്കാർ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള പുസ്തകത്തെ കടൽവഴിയായോ കരവഴിയായോ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ കടത്തിക്കൂടുന്നതല്ലെന്ന് ഗവർന്മെണ്ട് കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഒരു യജമാനനെ സേവിച്ചു നിൽക്കുന്ന ഭൃത്യൻ്റെ ശമ്പളം അവന്നു കിട്ടുന്നതിന്നു അവകാശപ്പെട്ടതിന്നുമേലല്ലാതെ, അതിന്മുമ്പു വിധി കടത്തിന്നു ജപ്തി ചെയ്യുവാൻ പാടുള്ളതല്ലാ എന്ന് അല്ലഹാബാദ് ഹൈക്കോർട്ടിലെ രണ്ടു ജഡ്ജിമാർ ഈയിട ഒരു കേസിൽ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഈ വരുന്ന നവംബർ ആദ്യത്തെ മൂന്നു ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ, അതാവിതു തുലാം 16 -17-18- തിയതികളിൽ തുലാരാശിയിൽ 7 - ഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചു നിൽക്കുന്നതാണെന്നും, മദ്രാസിനും തൂത്തുക്കുടിക്കും മധ്യെയുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഭൂകമ്പങ്ങൾ, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുകൾ മുതലായവ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതാണെന്നും ഒരു ലേഖകൻ ' മദ്രാസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡാർഡു , പത്രത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
വർത്തമാനപത്ര പ്രവർത്തന തൊഴിൽ ശീലിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ ഇപ്പൊൾ ലണ്ടൻ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ ചില വ്യവസ്ഥകൾ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനു നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പത്രപ്രവർത്തനത്തെ പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനു അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഐക്യനാടുകളിൽ ചില ഏർപ്പാടുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. അതിന്മണ്ണമാണ് ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലും മഹാപാഠശാലകളിൽ ഈ തൊഴിൽ സംബന്ധിച്ചു വ്യവസ്ഥകൾ ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
ആഗ്രായിലെ ഒരു ധനവാനായ ജയിനൻ അവിടത്തെ മീൻ പിടിത്തക്കാരെയും പക്ഷി പിടിത്തക്കാരെയും, സപ്തംബർ 1 നു മുതൽ തൻ്റെ പറമ്പിൽ വിളിച്ചു താമസിപ്പിച്ച് അവർക്കു ചെലവിനു കൊടുത്തു വരുന്നു. പക്ഷി മത്സ്യാദികളെ 15 ദിവസത്തേക്കു കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ് ഇങ്ങനെ അവർക്കു ചെലവിനു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. ജയിനന്മാരുടെ മതപ്രകാരം യാതൊരു ജന്തുവിനെയും കൊല്ലരുതെന്നു പ്രമാണമുള്ളതാണല്ലൊ.
മദ്രാസിൽ തിരുവളക്കണ്ണി തെരുവിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുളള കാണിമാറാ പ്രെസ്സിന് പ്രെസ്സാക്ടിൻ പ്രകാരം സാക്ഷ്യലിഖിതം എഴുതി വെച്ചിട്ടില്ലാ എന്നുള്ള കുറ്റത്തിനായി പ്രെസ്സുടമസ്ഥരെ പ്രതിയാക്കി കേസ് നടക്കുന്നു. പ്രതി മേല്പടി പ്രെസ്സിനെ വല്ലാജ ഹൈ റോഡിൽ 1902- ാമാണ്ടു സ്ഥാപിച്ചപ്പൊൾ സാക്ഷ്യലിഖിതം എഴുതിവച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ, കഴിഞ്ഞ കൊല്ലം സപ്തെമ്പറിൽ പ്രെസ്സിനെ തിരുവളക്കണ്ണിയിലെക്കു മാറ്റി. അപ്പൊൾ പ്രസ്സാക് ടിൻ പ്രകാരം സ്ഥലം മാറിയതൊടുകൂടി പുതുതായി എഴുതി വെയ്ക്കേണ്ട സാക്ഷ്യലിഖിതം എഴുതി വയ്ക്കാതെ അച്ചടിവേല നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ് കേസ്. പ്രതിഭാഗത്തെ തർക്കം, സ്ഥലം മാറുമ്പോൾ പുതിയ സാക്ഷ്യലിഖിതം ആവശ്യമില്ലാ എന്നാകുന്നു. പ്രെസ്സാക് ട് 4 -ം 5- ം വകുപ്പുകൾ വർത്തമാനപത്രങ്ങൾ അച്ചടിക്കുന്നതായും നിയതകാലപത്രികകൾ അച്ചടിക്കുന്നതായും ഉള്ള പ്രെസ്സുകളെയേ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ എന്നും, സാധാരണ അച്ചുകൂടങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്നും പ്രതിഭാഗം തർക്കിക്കുന്നു. സാക്ഷ്യലിഖിതത്തിൻ്റെ ഉദ്ദേശം ഒരച്ചുകൂടം സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായ സ്ഥലം ഇന്നതെന്നു ചൂണ്ടി കാണിപ്പാൻ അല്ലെന്നും, ഇന്ന അച്ചുകൂടം ഇന്നാരുടെ വകയായി സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതു തന്നെ എന്നു ലക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനാണെന്നും ആകുന്നു പ്രതി തർക്കിച്ചത്. ആ തർക്കത്തെ കോടതിയിൽ നിന്നു നിരാകരിക്കയും, കേസിൽ പ്രതിക്കു കുറ്റപത്രം കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

A case is being held against the proprietors of the Kanimaara press established on Tiruvalakanni street in Madras for the offense of not writing a certificate under the Press Act. When the defendant press was established at Wallaja High Road in 1902, the certificate was written. However, the press got shifted to Thiruvalakanni in September last year. The case is that the printing work is being carried out without writing the certificate, which needs to be written afresh as per the Press Act. The contention of the respondent is that a fresh affidavit is not required in case of change of venue. The respondent contends that Sections 4 and 5 of the Press Act relate only to presses engaged in printing newspapers and periodicals and not to ordinary presses. The defendant contended that the purpose of the affidavit is not to show the place where the press is located today, but to indicate the ownership of the press. That contention has been rejected by the court and the accused has been charged in the case.
