ചിക്കാഗോവിലെ വലിയ ധര്‍മ്മിഷ്ഠനായ മിസ്റ്റര്‍ പീറ്റര്‍ ബ്ലിസിംഗന് കള്ള ഒപ്പിട്ട കുറ്റത്തിന് ആറുകൊല്ലത്തെ കഠിനതടവു ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
യൂനിവേഴ്സിറ്റി വക ഏതാനും ചോദ്യക്കടലാസുകളെ വെളിക്കാക്കിയ എസ്. പി. സി. കേ. പ്രെസ്സിലെ വേലക്കാരനെ 18-മാസത്തെ കഠിനതടവിനുശിക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ബര്‍ഡുവാനില്‍ പുതിയ ആയുധ ആക്ട് പ്രകാരം പിടിച്ചു ചാര്‍ജ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന മൂന്നു ബങ്കാളികളുടെ പേരിലുള്ള കേസ്, ഗവര്‍ന്മേന്‍റ് പിന്‍വലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി അറിയുന്നു.
അടുത്ത കൊല്ലത്തില്‍ എഡ്വര്‍ഡ് ചക്രവര്‍ത്തിയും, അലക്സാന്‍ഡ്രാ മഹാരാജ്ഞിയും, ജര്‍മ്മന്‍ ചക്രവര്‍ത്തി അവര്‍കളും, പോര്‍ട്ടുഗലിലെ രാജാവും സ്പെയിനിലെ രാജാവിന്‍റെ അതിഥികളായി അവിടെ ചെല്ലുന്നതാണെന്നു കാണുന്നു.
വിദേശവസ്ത്രങ്ങളെ വ്യാപാരം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്, തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അധികനഷ്ടം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിനാല്‍, ആദായനികുതി വിട്ടുതരണമെന്നു കാണിച്ച് ബോബെയിലേ ഏതാനും കച്ചവടക്കാര്‍ വൈസ്രായി അവര്‍കള്‍ക്ക് ഹര്‍ജി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഈയിട ബോംബയില്‍വച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയസര്‍ ഹരികൃഷ്ണദാസ് നരോത്തമദാസ് എന്ന മഹാന്‍ അവിടെ ഒരു ഹിന്തുജെനറലാശുപത്രി സ്ഥാപിക്കേണ്ടതിലേക്ക് 5-ലക്ഷം ഉറുപ്പിക ചെലവുചെയ്യത്തക്കവണ്ണം തന്‍റെ മരണപത്രികയില്‍ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതായികാണുന്നു.
രാജദ്രോഹകരമായ ഒരു ലഘുപത്രിക പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തി എന്ന കുറ്റത്തിന് രോമേശചന്ദ്രചൌദ്രി എന്നൊരു ബങ്കാളിയുവാവിനെ ഗവര്‍ന്മേണ്ടില്‍നിന്നു പിടിക്കയും, കല്‍ക്കത്താ പ്രസിഡന്‍സിമജിസ്ട്രേട്ടു, മിസ്തര്‍ ചൌദ്രിയെ മൂവായിരം രൂപയ്ക്കു ജാമ്യത്തില്‍ വിടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
ബോംബയില്‍ ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ അവര്‍കളുടെ ഭാര്യയായ ലേഡി ക്ലാര്‍ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞ ബുധനാഴ്ച രാത്രി ഏഴര മണിക്ക് മരിച്ചുപോയതായി അറിഞ്ഞ് ഞങ്ങള്‍ വ്യസനിക്കുന്നു. ഇവരുടെ മരണത്തില്‍ നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പൊതുവെ വ്യസനിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മരണം പ്രമാണിച്ചു വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ദിവസം ബോംബയിലെ എല്ലാപബ്ലിക്കാഫീസുകള്‍ക്കും ഒഴിവ് അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Mr. Peter Blissingen, a great philanthropist of Chicago, has been sentenced to six years imprisonment with hard labour for forgery.
An employee of S.P.C.K. Press, who leaked some question papers of the university, was sentenced to 18 months rigorous imprisonment.
